Hi, my name is Brenda Luke. I'm a retired teacher (regular and special education.) I was the Teacher of the Year 2012 for Pierce County, Georgia. But my life drastically changed, May 12, 2018, while I was getting my hair done. The beautician's bowl damaged my neck, created a blood clot between C5 & C6, and I had a spinal cord stroke. Initially I was paralyzed from the neck down, but I've worked hard to gain movement back into my body. I use a motorized power chair and have limited use of my hands.
